Carrier Analytics: manage on transport data, not gut feeling

Know exactly how your carriers perform, and why.

Schematic illustration of Carrier Analytics: manage on transport data, not gut feeling

Carrier analytics is the collection, analysis and use of transport data to measure and improve the performance of your carriers. Many shippers do have data, but it is scattered across emails, Excel lists and separate systems. Noventra brings everything together in OrangeChain. This gives you a reliable, up-to-date picture of your entire carrier network, as a basis for better decisions in your logistics chain.

01

One source of truth for your transport data

All transport orders, status updates, deviations and costs are recorded in OrangeChain. Carriers share their status updates at every operational event, ideally automatically from their own system. This keeps your data current and complete. We aim for at least 98% first-time-right data quality.

If information is still missing, we fill the data gaps using AI and your historical transport data. You receive a transparent overview of this, so you always know which data comes directly from the chain and which has been supplemented.

02

What insights do you get?

Carrier performance and KPIs
Per carrier, per lane and per period, you see, among other things:

  • on-time pick-up and on-time delivery
  • acceptance rate of offered loads
  • timeliness and quality of status updates
  • deviations, refusals and returns
  • waiting time and additional costs

Trends and recurring bottlenecks
A single delay says little. A pattern does. Carrier analytics shows when delays keep recurring with the same carrier or at the same unloading address. Only then does a targeted root cause analysis follow, so you spend your time on the real problems.

Cost insight
See where your transport costs go: freight costs, waiting time, cancellations and other surcharges. This shows you where you can reduce transport costs.

Proactive alerts
You decide how often you receive an alert about orders that need attention. That way, you step in before a problem reaches your end customer.

03

From data to improvement

Analytics only has value when something is done with it. You receive a monthly KPI report, and every quarter we discuss the results in a performance review. If a carrier consistently falls below the standard, an improvement plan follows with a reassessment after two months. The insights from carrier analytics also form the basis for Carrier Selection and Carrier Tendering.

04

Transport data for your CSRD reporting

Under the CSRD, many organisations have to report their Scope 3 emissions, including those from transport and distribution. With carrier analytics, the basis for this is ready in OrangeChain. We make clear which data quality level your emissions figures are based on.

This way you know how reliable your Scope 3 transport emissions are and where you can still improve data quality.
