4PL Supply Chain Management

End-to-end Supply Chain Management

From the first order with your supplier to delivery to your end customer.

Schematic illustration of End-to-end Supply Chain Management

A supply chain involves many parties: suppliers, carriers, your own organisation and your end customers. Each party often works with its own systems, its own agreements and its own information. The result is a poor overview, duplicated work and problems that only become visible when it is too late. End-to-end supply chain management means the entire flow of goods is managed as a single chain. That is exactly Noventra’s role.

01

Supply chain orchestration: 4PL and 5PL explained

With 4PL (Fourth Party Logistics), a shipper outsources the orchestration of its logistics to a party that does not transport or store goods itself. That orchestrator oversees the whole and directs the executing parties. 5PL adds a network and data layer: information from multiple chains is combined, analysed and used to design the chain more intelligently.

Noventra works at both levels. Because we do not carry out any transport ourselves, we look purely at what is best for your chain.

02

Two directions, one overview

Goods flow into your organisation and out again. Yet inbound and outbound transport are often arranged separately, by different departments and with different carriers. Noventra brings both directions together:

  • Inbound: shipments from your suppliers to your sites or warehouses
  • Outbound: deliveries from your locations to your customers, in the Netherlands and internationally

The result is one coherent picture of all movements in your transport chain, instead of separate pieces of a puzzle.

03

What supply chain orchestration means in practice

Information that flows by itself
Orders no longer need to be retyped or forwarded by email. Through a direct system integration, your request goes straight into OrangeChain, where the right carrier can pick it up. We guide the technical connection. Until it is ready, you simply work via the online dashboard.

Everyone works from the same picture
You, your carriers and your customers look at the same up-to-date information. A customer who wants to know when their delivery will arrive gets an arrival window that moves with the actual progress of the trip. That saves phone calls and increases customer satisfaction.

Clear agreements between all parties
For each customer, we set out a communication structure: who is the contact person for which question, and how does an escalation work? The same service conditions apply to every carrier in the chain. How we select and manage your carriers is described under Carrier Management.

Solving problems at the source
Individual incidents are handled quickly. We also look for patterns: do delays keep recurring on the same route or at the same delivery address? Then we tackle the cause instead of treating the symptom again and again. More on this at Carrier Analytics.

04

Supply chain data you can build on

The better the data, the better the decisions. Because all parties work in the same platform, you get a complete and consistent picture of your logistics. If data is nevertheless missing, we are open about which information has been supplemented and on what basis. That way you always know how reliable the figures you manage by are.

05

Sustainability across the entire chain

If you want to report your Scope 3 emissions under the CSRD, you need data on all transport movements, not just outbound ones. Because inbound and outbound come together in one chain at Noventra, you have the data for both directions to substantiate your transport emissions and make them more accurate step by step.
