Network and capacity optimisation

A transport network that fits your volumes, peaks and ambitions.

Schematic illustration of network and capacity optimisation

Network and capacity optimisation means setting up your carrier network so that sufficient, suitable and affordable transport capacity is available on every lane. Too little capacity leads to refused loads and expensive rush trips. Too much dependence on a single carrier makes you vulnerable. Noventra ensures a balanced network that moves with your organisation.

01

Looking ahead with volume forecasts

Good capacity planning starts with insight into what is coming. You share indicative volume forecasts with us, without them being binding. Based on these, we align the available capacity with your carriers, well before a busy period begins.

02

The right equipment on the right lane

Not every carrier suits every shipment. For each lane, we look at which equipment is needed: standard trailers, mega trailers, refrigerated transport, trucks with a tail lift or LHVs for large volumes. That way you do not pay for capacity you do not use, and there is never too small a vehicle at the loading dock.

03

Spread and continuity

A strong network does not lean on a single party. By sensibly distributing volume across several carriers, your transport keeps running when one carrier temporarily has less capacity. If equipment unexpectedly fails, the carrier arranges a replacement within a few hours. This is laid down in the contract.

04

Capacity follows performance

In our network, volume is not a given. Carriers that perform reliably are given more room. If performance falls short, capacity shifts, in consultation with you, to parties that do better. Read how we choose carriers under Carrier Selection.

05

National and international

Your network does not stop at the border. Noventra orchestrates transport within the Netherlands and to destinations including the Benelux, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Southern and Eastern Europe, with carriers that run those lanes every day.

The benefits of an optimised transport network

  • Sufficient capacity, even in peak periods
  • Fewer refused loads and expensive rush solutions
  • Suitable equipment per lane and per shipment
  • Less dependence on one single carrier
  • Lower costs through better capacity utilisation
